“The possibility to select the best grapes every year in one of the largest areas in the world allows us to not distort our “recipe”. A choice opposed to many farms that are often limited by owned land that oblige the producer to use their grapes regardless of the quality of the year. In this way, we are lucky to be able to select the best crops upstream, so we are free to choose the best production on the market each season.”

THE ART OF WINEMAKING ON GARDA
Since ancient times, wise winegrowers have been breeding their vineyards on fertile soils that rest their roots on moraines and clays, providing structure and mineral longevity to these wines.
Today, Villa La Favorita
is home to Maia.
VILLA LA FAVORITA
Villa da Porto, known as La Favorita, is surrounded by a park of approximately 7,000 square meters and comprises three above-ground levels. It is one of the most important Palladian-style villas in the region, commanding views over the entire plain from the hill on which it stands and reached via a striking tree-lined avenue.
Its name, La Favorita (“The Favorite”), derives from the fact that it was the preferred residence of the da Porto family among their many estates. Commissioned by the Vicentine nobleman Giovanni Battista da Porto as a summer residence, it was built between 1714 and 1715 under the supervision of architect Francesco Muttoni.
The ground floor, spanning approximately 1,500 square meters, features remarkable rooms distinguished by cross-vaulted and barrel-vaulted ceilings in exposed brick.
The first floor, or piano nobile, is adorned with elegant wall frescoes inspired by recurring themes of classical art, where scenes of everyday life alternate with myths and legends—an artistic expression intended, at the time, to make the villa’s owners feel immortal.
Today, Villa La Favorita is Maia’s home.
